• BECs have been requested to do works of charity during the month of May leading up to the feast day. We invite all to be part of your BEC outreach programs.
• Our very own parishioners will be cooking for meals on the 1st-2nd June.
• We invite donations for the various items to be bought for the cooking. Three boxes will be manned outside the church area where you could leave could leave your donations. You could also give them to the parish office directly.
• We thank the donor that has come forward to sponsor the mineral water bottles.

Next Sunday the 14th of April 2013 is also the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for our candidates from KA and JCC at Jesus Caritas Church. The bilingual mass which will be presided by His Grace Archbishop Murphy Pakiam will be celebrated at 9:15am. Let us keep all our Confirmation candidates in prayer.

The weekend masses at Kristus Aman will be celebrated as usual.

 

A HEALING MASS (Bilingual) for the elderly and sick will be held on Friday, 22-Mar-2013 at 9:30am in Jesus Caritas Church. Please help to bring the elderly and the sick in your BECs and families for a special anointing except those who are homebound. The elderly and sick who wish to make confession can see the Priest at 9:00am. There will be no mass at 6:40am.

A GOTONG-ROYONG TO SPRING CLEAN THE CHURCH will be held on Saturday, 9-Mar-2013 from 9:30am to 12:00 noon. Please bring along with you rags, pails, detergent, brooms and mops. Let us come together as a family and clean our House of Prayer in readiness for Chrism Mass and Easter.

The Formation on Exploring Youcat will begin on Friday 11-Jan-2013 from 8:00pm to 9:00pm at Mezzanine Floor, JCC.  Please bring YOUCAT with you.  You can also purchase it at RM25.00 at JCC or place an order with Lizzie Vincent.

The Rite of Dedication of Jesus Caritas Church (JCC), Kepong Baru will be held on 19th June 2011 at 5:00pm (1700 hrs) sharp. His Grace, Tan Sri Datuk Murphy Pakiam, DD, Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur will grace this occasion. This occasion will also be celebrated by Bishops and Priests from other churches. The Church was built at the cost of RM7.5 million without taking any loans. There will be no English or Chinese mass on Sunday morning, 19th June 2011. The sunset mass on Saturday, 18th June, 2011 (7:30pm) will be celebrated as usual.

The 3rd Feast Day Committee Meeting will be held on Sunday, 12-May-2013 at 3:00pm in the Mezzanine floor.

There will be a feast day briefing and rehearsal on Sunday, 26-May-2013 at 7:00pm. We will gather in the mezzanine floor.  All Organising Committee Members, Procession Committee Members, Traffic Wardens, Security Wardens, Hospitality Ministers, BEC Coordinators, Banner Bearers, Hymn Leaders, Prayer Leaders, Extraordinary Ministers of Communion, Altar Servers and Flower Girls are required to attend this Briefing and Rehearsal.

 

Kindly note that the Ascension of the Lord is a day of Obligation for our Bishop’s Conference. Thus all are encouraged to attend mass on that day.

The mass on Sunday, 5-May-2013, will be celebrated at 9:15 am (bilingual).  There will be no mass at 11:15 am.

The Jesus Caritas Church Feast of The Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) will be celebrated on Sunday 2-Jun-2013. We are calling all parishioners to volunteer to be a part of the Organising Committee. Please come for a meeting which will be held on Sunday, 21-Apr-2013 at 2:00pm on the Mezzanine Floor. The Feast Day Tridumm will begin on 30-May to 2-Jun-2013.

Except for the resurrection on Easter, Holy Thursday is possibly one of the most important, complex, and profound days of celebration in the Catholic Church. Holy Thursday celebrates the institution of the Eucharist as the true body and blood of Jesus Christ and the institution of the sacrament of the priesthood.

During the Last Supper, Jesus offers himself as the Passover sacrifice, the sacrificial lamb, and teaches that every ordained priest is to follow the same sacrifice in the exact same way. Christ also bids farewell to his followers and prophesizes that one of them will betray him and hand him over to the Roman soldiers.

Holy Week Mass Schedule at JCC

 

Around the world, Bishops and priests come together at their local Cathedrals on Holy Thursday morning to celebrate the institution of the priesthood. During the Mass, the bishop blesses the Oil of Chrism that will be used for Baptism, Confirmation, and Anointing of the sick or dying.

At this Mass, the bishop washes the feet of twelve priests to symbolize Christ’s washing of his twelve Apostles, our first bishops and priests.

Later that night, after sundown – because Passover began at sundown - the Holy Thursday Liturgy takes place, marking the end of Lent and the beginning of the sacred "Triduum," or three, of Holy Week. These days are the three holiest days in the Catholic Church.

This Mass stresses the importance Jesus puts on the humility of service, and the need for cleansing with water, a symbol of baptism. Also emphasized are the critical importance of the Eucharist and the sacrifice of Christ’s Body, which we now find present in the consecrated Host.

At the conclusion of the Mass, the faithful are invited to continue Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the night, just as the disciples were invited to stay up with the Lord during His agony in the garden before His betrayal by Judas.

After Holy Thursday, no Mass will be celebrated again in the Church until the Easter Vigil celebrates and proclaims the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When to call a priest for Anointing of the Sick?

The sacrament of the anointing of the sick can be received by any Catholic whose health is in a critical state (CCC 1514 – 1515)

One can receive the anointing of the sick several times in one's life. Therefore it makes sense for young people for this sacrament also, if, for example, they are about to undergo a serious operation. On such occasions, many Catholics combine the anointing of the sick with a general confession; in case the operation fails, they want to go to meet God with a clear conscience. (YOUCAT 243)

Thus, it is appropriate to call for a priest to anoint the sick person when their health is in a critical condition before undergoing a serious surgery

Priestly Ordination - All Things to All Men (1 Corinthians 9:22)

The priestly ordination of Deacons Augustine Lee , Peter Anthony, Chin Sin Wee and Gregory Chan will be held on Thursday, 24-Jan-2013 at 5:00pm at St. John's Cathedral, Kuala Lumpur followed by dinner.   Parishioners are encouraged to car pool or to take public transport. All are welcome to join in this celebration.
